Your proxy access information

Bright Data proxies are grouped in “Proxy zones”. Each zone holds the configuration for the proxies it holds.

To get access to the proxy zone:

1. Login to Bright Data control panel
2. Select the proxy zone or setup a new one
3. Click on the new zone name, and select the Overview tab.
4. In the overview tab, under Access details you can find the proxy access details, and copy them to clipboard on click.
5. You will need: Proxy Host, Proxy Port, Proxy Zone username and Proxy Zone password.
6. Click on the copy icons to copy the text to your clipboard and paste in your tool’s proxy configuration.

Targeting search engines?

If you target a search engine like google, bing or yandex, you need a special Search Engine Results Page (SERP) proxy API. Use Bright Data SERP API to target search engines. Click here to read more about Bright Data SERP proxy API.

Correct setup of proxy test to avoid “PROXY ERROR”

In many tools you will see a “test proxy” function, which performs a conncectivity test to your proxy, and some add a geolocation test as well, to identify the location of the proxy. To correctly test your proxy you should target those search queries to: https://geo.brdtest.com/welcome.txt .

Some tools use popular search engines (like google.com) as a default test target. Bright Data will block those requests and you tool will show proxy error although your proxy is perfectly fine.

If your proxy test fails, this is probably the reason. Make sure that your test domain is not a search engine (this is done in the tool configuration, and not controlled by Bright Data).

Steps to integrate SaleFreaks with Bright Data proxies

Step 1. Sign up to Bright Data:

1. After signing up, go to the Bright Data dashboard
2. Navigate to the “Proxy & Scraping Infrastructure” section
3. Add a new designated Zone for your proxy usage

Step 2. Select proxy type:

In this example, we will show how to set up datacenter proxies.

Step 3. Name proxy solution:

Step 4. Select IP count:

Fill in the number of IPs you need.

Step 5. Country & city selection:

Choose your desired country and city for the IP location.

Step 6. Add zone:

Click the “Add” button to create the Zone.

Step 7. Now Zone is ready:

You always have the option to edit the zone by clicking on the zone name and taking the data you will require for the next step. To add more proxies, go to the “configuration” page.

Step 8. Adding new password:

For adding a new proxy password, click on the ‘ Add password’ button (it is now possible to add more proxy passwords on the “Access parameters” page).

Step 9. Head to the configuration page:

Once you added a new password, head to the configuration page.

Step 10. Review IPs:

To review your IPs, click on To review your IPs, click on Show allocated IPs.

Step 11. You will notice the list of Allocated IPs:

Take a look at the list of allocated IPs.

Step 12. Click on the download IPs list button:

FYI: If you choose “new password” in step 10, please wait a few minutes before you download the allocated IP’s files, to allow the new password to sync with and reflect in the file.

Step 13. Open file editor:

Open the file in the editor of your choice will appear similar to the below example:

For your convenience we have breakdown the fields you need to fill as shown from the list below:

• Proxy type: HTTP
• Proxy IP: brd.superproxy.io
• Proxy Port: 33335
• Proxy user:lum-customer-{your_customer_id}-zone-{your_zone}-ip-191.101.212.175
• Proxy password: zh4*********

Step 15. Login to Salefreaks:

After you login at salesfreak.com an add account pop will appear, select your ebay marketplace, enter your store name and click on provide my own proxy.

Step 16. Fill in Salefreaks fields:

Fill in the Salefreaks text field information taken from the Bright Data downloaded file.

Step 17. For your information:

To avoid account suspension, which will lead to losing all of the allocated IPs, we recommend enabling the auto-recharge feature, which will ensure that the account will never run out of funds. It could be in any amount, starting from $20.

Important note:

If you are using Bright Data’s Residential Proxies, Web Unlocker or SERP API, you need to install an SSL certificate to enable end-to-end secure connections to your target website(s).
